What is an engineering menu

Audio: Strengthen the volume level

Modern devices scan several GSM frequencies. 900/1800 MHz and 850/1900 MHz. In Russia, there is a pair of 900/1800 MHz, which means there is no need to scan the network at other frequencies. Radio signal for the second pair can be disabled, which will significantly save the charge level.
In Engineer Mode, open the Band Mode item. Disconnect unused frequencies by removing the check mark from the respective items. PCS1900 and GSM850. If the device supports two SIM cards, open the alternate SIM1 and SIM2 items and follow these steps in each. Press the SET button to save the settings.
If the smartphone and the SIM card operate in 3G networks, disable networks that are not used in Russia: WCDMA-PCS 1900, WCDMA-800, WCDMA-CLR-850. Reggle press the SET button.
You can turn on the scan of disabled networks by returning to the same menu and installing checkboxes.
Camera: Photo and video settings
By default, Android devices save snapshots in JPEG format. Meanwhile, photographers prefer to shoot and process material in RAW to get more editing features. The technical menu allows you to select the desired image format.
In the menu, find Camera and select Capture Type. Set photo format. RAW and click Set. What can be changed using the menu

In the Audio section, you can configure the sound volume in the Android engineering menu. This applies to the volume of call from the incoming call. You can configure in the Loudspeaker MODE tab by moving the slider from the minimum value (120) to the maximum (200).

Despite the fact that this setting concerns the deactivation of certain frequencies of mobile communications in the smartphone, it affects the autonomy of the device. After all, if the smartphone stops working in a certain frequency range, it consumes the smaller battery charge.
In Russia and most countries of the post-Soviet space, there is a pair of GSM frequencies 900/1800 MHz. So the rest can be safely disabled.
To do this, you need to open the Band Mode section and remove the ticks in front of the inscriptions PCS1900 and GSM850. In the case of a device on two sims, you need to turn off the frequencies in each separately.
To save space, in almost all Android devices, photos are saved in JPEG format. Due to the image compression, their quality is reduced, but through the engineering panel you can preserve photos in the source format without compression. Raw.
